Twilight and dawn, as every landscape artist knows, are the magical times -- the times when the light presents all the drama and subtlty one can imagine. But what about the rest of the day and the night? Although our everyday vision does not reveal it to us so easily, all the drama and light of dawn and dusk can be found at midday and at midnight.
With some subtle reworking of compositional elements and some not-so-sublte reworking of the colors we naturally experience, I present some landscapes as they should look to us, if only our visual processing were up to the task... |
