ABSTRACTS
With an abstract the emphasis is on the picture plane - the picture is about therelationship of colors and form and any reference to a real world object is secondary if not totally absent. For an artist an abstract makes for a great compositional exercise, or an opportunity to create a work that highlights composition without the constraint of reference to real world elements.
